5 Things To Do At Cultus Lake Before The Summer Is Over

I just took a look at the calendar and I was surprised to see that it’s August.

Do you know what that means?

Summer is basically over.

So in case you’ve been riding out this heatwave hiding indoors with air conditioning, here are 5 fun things to do at Cultus Lake with your fam jam in August so you don’t feel like you wasted your summer.

1 – Free Movie Night at Main Beach

On August 3, Black Panther will playing on the big screen at Main Beach for free! Grab a blanket and a lawn chair and watch a movie on the beach. Concession will be available. What could be better than popcorn and fresh air and a FREE movie at dusk on the beach?

2 – Elvis Elite

Catch Steve Elliot, an Elvis Tribute artist, crooning the tunes on Friday, August 10. He will be performing at 7 pm between Beethovens Pizza and the Lakeside Beach Club so you wont even need to make dinner first! Come early to grab some eats and get a good spot to watch.

3 – Cultus Lake Summer Series hosted by Pure Life Paddleboards

Every Wednesday in August, Pure Life will be hosting an evening social paddle. They invite paddlers of all skill levels to bring out their SUPs, kayaks, and canoes to join in on the fun. No paddle? No problem! Hit up man beach boat rentals and they’ll get you set up to jump in and socialize on the water.

4 – Summer Farmers’ Market

Every Saturday from 9:00am – 3:00pm, you can check out farmers’ and artisan stands and find everything from fresh produce to jewelry to flowers and even beer. There’s also live music featured in the gazebo! The market can be found running at Main Beach until September 1.

5 – Nothing!

Yes that’s right. Do nothing. Sit on the beach. Pack a picnic and sit in the sun (check out my previous post for a picnic hit you don’t want to leave at home!). Float in the water. Do. Nothing. That’s what summer is for! Cultus Lake Park has tons of beaches and picnic areas to just relax and enjoy. Get out there and do nothing!

The days are now getting shorter, and before we know it, school will be back in session. Take advantage of living so close to this amazing provincial park. Get out and explore and live this last month of summer to the fullest!
