Local woman Sweta Dixit is fresh off a pageant run in Toronto and taking her impressive crown collection on the road again- this time to America’s SUPER Pageant 2018.  Sweta recently competed in Miss South Asia Canada and Canada’s Top Choice Pageant, leaving with a total of six crowns. She is the first to take home that many accolades on the national stage, and her collection includes the titles of Miss Congeniality, Queen of Substance, People’s Choice (twice over) and several others!

The Canada’s Top Choice runner up is a native of Uttar Pradesh  in India, but was born and bought up in Ahmedabad Gujarat. She has been in Canada for seven years and is a proud Canadian citizen. After winning the Runner up title she enrolled to represent Canada in Ms SUPER International at America’s SUPER Pageant 2018.

“Whenever I am on stage, I feel like I belong there and it gives me confidence.”

A paramedical professional, Sweta spends her free time volunteering with various nonprofits and using her platform to advocated for various causes, in particular the Buckle Up Movement, which is an initiative to increase the use of seat belts while driving. The America’s SUPER Pageant website states that its delegates “promote the national platform of Seat Belt Use and Awareness” and provides statistical information on the efficacy and need for this program.

Sweta has received numerous accolades since winning her six crowns, including endorsements from the MS Society of Canada (where she is an avid volunteer), the Mayor of Abbotsford,  Arshad Awan of the OMNI Network, and the Wonder Women Society. She was also featured on this list of 100 self-made entrepreneurs. She is also the Candidate Recruiting Director for British Columbia and a nominee for the Wonder Woman Award 2018. She has also received a community pride award for her contributions to  local organizations.

Sweta is truly a self-made success, having left her life and family support in India to come to Canada and build a career and a community from nothing. She is the first Abbotsford resident to obtain so many crowns on the pageant circuit, and the first to represent Canada on the international stage. We wish Sweta the greatest luck in Montana and in all her future endeavours!
