What’s Up in the Fraser Valley During September

September is basically January; a fresh start, new beginnings, adventures, change of schedules… Things begin to slow down, the leaves start falling and you order your PSL daily instead of an iced americano. Summer activities will soon be a thing of the past as it gets too cold to spend afternoons in the lake and evenings around the campfires. School starts, routines get back on track. It all sounds a little dull, doesn’t it?

Here are a few fun activities happening around the Fraser Valley this September to keep things rockin’.

Vancouver Canucks Jake Virtanen and Canuck Place Teen Take a Dream Flight at Abbotsford International Airshow

Vancouver Canucks Jake Virtanen and Canuck Place Children’s Hospice youth, Yousef, will take a dream come true flight on Friday, August 9 at the Abbotsford International Airshow.

Yousef is a 17-year-old Burnaby youth with a type of pediatric cancer called Ewing Sarcoma, which accounts for about 1.8 percent of childhood cancers. Yousef loves horseback riding and planes. His dream of flying in formation with a Canucks player will come true on Friday morning in a special routine in advance of the annual Abbotsford International Airshow.

Father’s Day Gift Guide

I find Father’s Day gifts to be one of the hardest gifts to buy. Unless your guy has a specific hobby that you can add to each year, it can be really hard to come up with what to get. Lucky for you, I’m here to help you with a few ideas this year!

If you have young children, I find homemade gifts to be the best option. What Dad doesn’t love getting gift made just for them by their little ones. A few that we have done in the past year are:

Organic Shops In The Fraser Valley

For starters, let’s dive into some of the reasons organic eating is a good and healthy decision to make! Organic foods do not have the following;

  • pesticides
  • herbicides
  • fertilizers from synthetic ingredients or sewage sludge
  • ionizing radiation
  • growth hormones
  • antibiotics

Which is pretty amazing considering we live in a world ruled by processed foods.  Organic crops are also more nutritious for you and are usually GMO-free! All the more reason to shop organic!  We aren’t here to convert you or anything, but we are here to keep you in the loop when it comes to.. well… anything positively affecting your lifestyle! With that, here are a few of our favourite local and organic shops in the Fraser Valley!
