Canuck Place Children’s Hospice Lights up For The Holiday Season

On Thursday, November 29, 2018, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice – Dave Lede House in Abbotsford will illuminate thousands of festive lights decorating the hospice and surrounding gardens to welcome in Abbotsford to welcome the holiday season and celebrate the donors and sponsors who support the funding of pediatric palliative care for Canuck Place children and families across BC.

The Canuck Place Lighting of the House is an annual tradition that brings Canuck Place supporters together to celebrate their contributions. The evening will feature a performance by the Mennonite Educational Institute (MEI) Choir, festive activities, as well as a special ceremony where Canuck Place family, the McLeods, will illuminate the house and grounds.

Canuck Place has also launched their online Light a Life holiday campaign at www.canuckplace.org to invite the public to join the donors at this event in contributing to Canuck Place care. This campaign complements the Lighting of the House event and will run until December 31st, 2019.

Canuck Place Children’s Hospice is British Columbia’s pediatric palliative care provider. Over 728 children living with life-threatening illnesses and families receive care from CPCH through outreach programs and two provincial hospice locations: Vancouver and Abbotsford. Services include medical respite and family support, pain and symptom management, 24-hour phone consultation support and in-house clinical care, music, art and recreation therapy, education, grief and loss counselling and end-of-life care.
