Vancouver Canucks Jake Virtanen and Canuck Place Teen Take a Dream Flight at Abbotsford International Airshow

Vancouver Canucks Jake Virtanen and Canuck Place Children’s Hospice youth, Yousef, will take a dream come true flight on Friday, August 9 at the Abbotsford International Airshow.

Yousef is a 17-year-old Burnaby youth with a type of pediatric cancer called Ewing Sarcoma, which accounts for about 1.8 percent of childhood cancers. Yousef loves horseback riding and planes. His dream of flying in formation with a Canucks player will come true on Friday morning in a special routine in advance of the annual Abbotsford International Airshow.

Yousef and Jake will:

  • have a front-row seat for the USAF Thunderbirds Practice 
  •  meet the talented USAF Thunderbirds Pilots on the ramp after their practice
  •  they will then go for a special formation flight together with the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team in a 4-ship of T-6 Texan (Harvard) aircraft.
